An Important Update Regarding Day of Giving

Whether you are an alum, parent, student, faculty member, staff member or friend of NC State, we are keeping you in our thoughts.

In recent weeks, you may have received email or mail announcements regarding our second annual NC State Day of Giving, which was scheduled for March 25. I wanted to let you know that, in light of our campus’ efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 and the need to prioritize the health and safety of our community, we have elected to postpone the event. Day of Giving is about celebrating the strength of the Pack, and our focus right now must be just that: keeping our Pack strong.

As this situation continues to evolve, we are taking steps to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, in accordance with the directives of state and local officials. More information about NC State’s response, campus announcements, helpful information and a growing list of resources can be found at www.ncsu.edu/coronavirus.

In the weeks and months ahead, our students — particularly those who are already underresourced, those from areas heavily impacted and those whose employment or living situation has abruptly changed — will face new and overwhelming challenges. We have already heard from a number of these students, as well as from many alumni and friends asking how they can help. The Student Emergency Fund will be critical to addressing these needs. If you wish to learn more about this fund, please visit go.ncsu.edu/our-pack.

Together, we can do more, and right now that means taking care of one another. Thank you for being a part of our Pack.

Sincerely,

Randy Woodson
Chancellor
