Giving and Social Media Challenges
With challenges taking place all day and hourly on Day of Giving, as well as on social media before March 25, there are multiple opportunities to make your mark. Follow along with the challenge winners here.
Leaderboards
Donation Leaderboard
Colleges and units will win a share of $25,000 based on their percentage of the total amount raised.
Participation Leaderboard
Colleges and units will win a share of $25,000 based on their percentage of the total number of gifts.
Power Your Pack Leaderboard
Colleges and units that took part in previous Days of Giving will win a share of $25,000 based on their percentage increase in the number of gifts from their previous highest total. To be included on this leaderboard, units must have received a minimum of 50 gifts the previous year.
University Priorities Leaderboard
Programs and funds will win a share of $25,000 based on their percentage of the total number of gifts.
Pack Leader Leaderboard
The top three Pack Leaders will earn $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 to give to the area of their choosing based on the number of gifts.
Pre-Day Challenges
Head Start Challenge (Gleam)
Platform(s): Participate by logging in to Gleam
Dates: March 11 through 11:59 p.m. on March 24
Prize Amount: Three winners of $1,000 each
Help your favorite area of NC State get a head start on Day of Giving! Log in to Gleam to see the complete list of actions, such as watching the teaser video or following NC State on social media. Every action you complete earns you an entry and increases your chances of winning. (Note: Some actions are worth more entries than others.) Three winners will be chosen at random to win $1,000 in bonus funds each for the college, program or unit of their choice.
Head Start Challenge - NC State Day of GivingWhere’s the Pin? Challenge

Dates: Feb. 16 - March 20
Prize Amount: Five winners of $500 each
It’s hard to go 10 feet on campus without spotting something that was made possible by donor support. The Wolfpack has made its mark on NC State in so many ways, and this year we’re making a mark near a few of the places that bring our community together. Follow @NCState on Instagram for the chance to guess where we’re leaving five giant pins on campus. One location will slowly be revealed each day. The first person to guess the location correctly via Instagram Stories will win $500 in bonus funds for the college, program or unit of their choice.
Make Your Mark Challenge
Platform(s): Enter on website; winners announced on the @NCState Instagram stories
Dates: Form opens on the website on Feb. 6. Winners will be announced on @NCState’s Instagram stories leading up to and on Day of Giving.
Prize Amount: 12 winners of $1,000 each
Make your mark on campus during Day of Giving by sharing how NC State left a mark on your life. Whether it be an inspiring professor, your favorite study spot between classes or the club where you met your best friends, fill out the online form (coming Feb. 6) and share what you love most about a college, program or unit. A dozen winners will be chosen leading up to and on Day of Giving.

On your 📍mark📍, get set, go! Be the first one to make a Day of Giving gift, and we’ll add an extra $1,000 to your chosen area.
Most Gifts

The more the merrier! The area with the most gifts made in the first hour of Day of Giving wins a bonus of $1,000.
Most Gifts (Outside of N.C.)
Time: 2 a.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
You can make your mark from anywhere! The area that receives the most gifts from donors outside of North Carolina between 2 and 3 a.m. wins a bonus of $1,000.

Prize Amount: $1,000
The bigger the Pack, the bigger the mark. The area that receives the most gifts between 5 and 6 a.m. earns a bonus of $1,000.
Most Faculty and Staff Gifts
Time: 6 a.m.

Calling all early birds! The area with the most gifts made by NC State’s wonderful faculty and staff earns a bonus of $1,000.

My Wolfpack Challenge

From friends to our littlest fans, we all know wolves run in a Pack. Post a photo of yourself, your friends or your little ones repping your best NC State spirit. There are two ways to participate: 1) Comment your photo on the NC State University Facebook page’s post about this challenge and mention the college, program or unit of your choice. 2) You can also enter by posting your photo publicly on Instagram (feed or stories), tagging @NCState’s profile on the platform, using #GivingPack and mentioning your college, program or unit of choice in the post. Two winners will earn an extra $1,000 each for their favorite college/unit.

University Priorities Power Hour

Get your priorities straight! We have our first power hour for you: The university priorities area with the most gifts made between 10 and 11 a.m. earns a bonus of $1,000.
First-Time Donor

Prize Amount: $1,000
It’s never too late to make your mark! We’ll be randomly selecting a first-time donor who gives between 10 and 11 a.m. and awarding their preferred area $1,000.
Most Alumni Gifts
Time: 11 a.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
We're the Red and White from State, and we know we are the best, that’s why our alumni are making their mark today. The area that receives the most alumni gifts between 11 a.m. and noon will win an extra $1,000.
Most Friend Gifts
Time: 11 a.m.

Our Pack welcomes everyone, not just alumni! That’s why the area with the most gifts from friends and fans of NC State made between 11 a.m. and noon will earn a bonus of $1,000.
Largest Gift Online
Time: 12 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
What’s the biggest mark you can make? The area that receives the largest gift online between noon and 1 p.m. will earn an additional $1,000.
“Red and White Song” Challenge
Platform(s): Instagram (feed and stories)
Time: 12-2 p.m.
Prize Amount: Two winners of $1,500 each
“We’re the Red and White from State …” If you know these lyrics, this challenge is for you. Record a video of yourself singing or performing the “Red and White Song” to help your favorite college or unit win. Participate on Instagram by using #GivingPack, tagging @NCState and mentioning the college, program or unit of your choice. Two participants will win a $1,500 bonus for their selected area of NC State.
Most Graduate Degree Alumni Gifts
Time: 1 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
Our graduate degree alumni are impressive, so we want to know where you’re making your mark. The area that receives the most gifts from graduate alumni between 1 and 2 p.m. will earn an additional $1,000.
Most Faculty and Staff Gifts
Time: 2 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
Now’s the time to put your weight behind your unit! The area with the most gifts made by faculty and staff between 2 and 3 p.m. will earn an additional $1,000.
Most Student Gifts
Time: 3 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
Ah-wooooo 🐺! That was the Wufs calling all Pack students, now’s your time to shine. The area that receives the most gifts from students between 3 and 4 p.m. will earn an additional $1,000.
University Priorities Power Hour
Time: 3 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
Eyes on the prize, Wolfpack! We’ve got a second power hour, and the university priorities area with the most gifts made between 3 and 4 p.m. wins a bonus of $1,000.
Repeat Donor
Time: 4 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000
Make your mark! Make your mark! Oops, did we say that twice? That’s because we’ve got a repeat donor challenge hour for you. Make your second (or third or fourth or … you get the idea) gift of the day between 4 and 5 p.m. for a chance to win an additional $1,000 for your favorite area.

If you're one of our 30,000 living alumni, this hour is for you! Join your fellow alumni in giving between 5 and 6 p.m. for a chance to earn your favorite area the most gifts and a bonus of $1,000.

Pack Pets Challenge

Our pets are part of our NC State family. Whether they’re decked out in Wolfpack gear, running wild or interrupting a Zoom call, they’re here for us when we need them. During this hour, we want you to show us your Wolfpack pets!

First-Time Donor

There’s a first time for everything! Make your first gift to NC State between 8 and 9 p.m. for a chance to win a bonus $1,000 for your preferred area.
Most Young Alumni Gifts

Being a part of the Wolfpack doesn’t end at graduation, and our recent graduates are proof of that. Your favorite area has a chance to win a bonus of $1,000 by receiving the most gifts from graduates of the last 10 years.
Top 3 Most Gifts
Time: 9 p.m.
Prize Amount: $1,000, $750, $500
We have three more hours to make our mark, so we have three prizes for this hour to keep the party going! The three areas with the most gifts made between 9 and 10 p.m. will earn a bonus.

Night owls, now’s your chance to take us to the finish line! The area with the most late night gifts made between 10 and 11 p.m. will earn a bonus of $1,000.

All Day Challenges
#GivingPack Passion Match Challenge
Platform(s): Instagram Stories
Time: All day on Wednesday, March 25, until 200 posts are made and the $4,000 threshold is reached
Prize Amount: Many winners; $20 per post until the $4,000 threshold is reached
What area of NC State are you most passionate about? Whether it’s your college, the library where you get your best studying done or the community center where you found your Pack, this challenge is for you. Take a video or write a message about your passion area, and $20 will automatically be given to that area in your honor! It’s that easy. Visit the @NCState Instagram Stories on March 25 and use the “Add Yours” sticker to participate. Don’t forget to use #GivingPack, tag @NCState and mention the college, program or unit of your choice.
This challenge will begin at 12:01 a.m. on March 25 and will run until we’ve reached 200 posts and the $4,000 threshold.
RULES:
- Keep your entries positive.
- Limit one entry per account.
- Entries must be made using the “Add Yours” sticker available on @NCState’s Instagram Stories on March 25.
- Entries must tag @NCState.

Where’s the Wuf? Scavenger Hunt

Time: All day on Wednesday, March 25 (5 Wufs on campus, 1 on website)
Prize Amount: Six winners of $500 each
Students! On Wednesday, March 25, five stuffed Wufs will be hidden across NC State’s main campus and Centennial Campus. Each Wuf you find has a donation value of $500 that you can give to your preferred college, program or unit. Find a Wuf, take a photo with it and post it publicly to Instagram with the message: “Hey, @NCState. I found the Wuf! I’m #GivingPack to [insert college, program or unit name here].” Bonus: You get to keep the Wuf! Not on campus? One Wuf has gone digital. Be the first to find the digital Wuf hidden on the Day of Giving website, click the image and complete the entry form to win.

The Pack Leader who rises above the rest and raises the most online dollars will earn a bonus of $1,000 for their preferred area.

Pack Leaders who received gifts from at least two donors on Day of Giving will be entered for one of six chances to win a bonus of $1,000 for their preferred area.

Prize Amount: $2,000 Unit with most donors from their Pack Leaders
The area that receives the most donors through their Pack Leaders will earn a bonus of $2,000.

The donor who helps us reach our goal of all 50 states will earn an additional $1,000 for their preferred area.

The donor who helps us reach our goal of all 100 North Carolina counties will earn an additional $1,000 for their preferred area.

Help Mr. and Ms. Wuf decide where their prize money will go. Check your email for this special invitation to participate. Each gift made on Day of Giving gives you one vote for your favorite area. At the end of the day, the Wufs will award the top three areas $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 based on your votes!
