#GivingPack and Making an Impact
Each year, for 24 hours, the Wolfpack comes together on NC State Day of Giving to achieve more: creating greater opportunities, providing broader educational access, fostering bolder visions and advancing innovative research.
Day of Giving gifts of all sizes go to work quickly, even making a difference as soon as the current academic year. Here are just a few things Day of Giving gifts have helped accomplish:
- The NC State Veterinary Hospital assisted clients with treatment costs for more than 85 companion animals, thanks to a generous matching gift from a donor.
- Wellness and Recreation awarded two Friends and Family Scholarships.
- Poole College of Management received funding to support students overcoming challenges related to learning disabilities.
- Thanks to gifts during Day of Giving 2021, the LGBTQ Pride Center, with assistance from Pack Essentials, provided two students with emergency support with the first awards from the Spitz Dream Fund.
- The College of Design invited designers from MASS Design Group to lead a student project for 90 students in architecture, landscape architecture and environmental planning.
- The Science House’s Rural Equipment and Technology Loan Program served more than 500 teachers and 20,000 students in over 30 rural school systems in North Carolina.
- Thirty-one students — hailing from every college at NC State — received the first-ever Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative awards.
- Wilson College of Textiles purchased loaner dress forms and sewing machines to support students learning remotely.
- More than $20,000 raised in honor of the Women’s Center’s 20th anniversary meant support for 40 student survivors of interpersonal violence through the Survivor Fund.
- NC State’s Crafts Center purchased new, adjustable tables for their studios, making the arts more accessible.
- The Institute for Advanced Analytics covered travel expenses for five graduate student practicum teams to meet on-site at their sponsors’ headquarters across the country.
- A gift established the Foulkrod-Klingler Endowment to provide funds for professional development opportunities for the university’s special events team.
- 235 students studied abroad thanks to nearly $500,000 in support for the University’s Greatest Needs Fund.
- Challenge funds won by NC State’s Richard L. and Marlene V. Daugherty Centennial Campus Entrepreneurial Endowment allowed five startups to be funded, expanding from the standard three.
- Ten campers were able to attend a 2025 summer engineering residential or day camp because of support to The Engineering Place.
- The College of Education awarded 45 Student Teacher Mini-Grants in 2025. (See what these can do here.)
